Paris D.

Hello, I'm Paris from the U.K.
My academic background is that I have a B.A. in History and Philosophy. I also have an M.A. in English.
My interests are quite varied (as you can see in my pictures). I love travelling , I enjoy reading, cooking, photography, dancing, and watching movies.
I can speak Spanish at a native level and I'm currently living in Spain.

My teaching style is about teaching students how to learn on their own, and enjoy helping students find their own strengths and learning styles. For example, if a student wants to use a textbook I would get my student to do the writing and reading at home so we could focus more on listening and speaking in the classroom. I also explain a grammar point or new vocabulary in the classroom.

In addition, I enjoy learning about how students' native language influences their ideas and personality. My one piece of advice for learners is that when you are learning a language, you're not just teaching others knowledge; you're guiding them in the development of a skill. In addition, I mentor teachers in the areas of lesson planning, materials development, and how to teach writing.

I'm currently working on writing a film script. I've been working on this project for a few years, but I hope to have it completed later this year. I'm hoping to walk the Camino in Spain later this year too! Do you fancy joining up with me?

What have you been doing? Tell me in the next class!
