Elizabeth G.

Hello, I'm Elizabeth from the U.K.
My academic background is that I have a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in Social psychology.
My interests are quite varied (as you can see in my pictures). I love travelling , I enjoy reading, cooking, photography, dancing, and watching movies.
I can speak Spanish at a native level and I'm currently living in Spain.
My teaching style is about teaching students how to learn on their own, and enjoy helping students find their own strengths and learning styles. For example, if a student wants to use a textbook I would get my student to do the writing and reading at home so we could focus more on listening and speaking in the classroom. I also explain a grammar point or new vocabulary in the classroom.
In addition, I enjoy learning about how students' native language influences their ideas and personality. My one piece of advice for learners is that when you are learning a language, you're not just teaching others knowledge; you're guiding them in the development of a skill. In addition, I mentor teachers in the areas of lesson planning, materials development, and how to teach writing.

Write something here about your week... for example, tell your students what you have been doing since you last spoke to them (keep this to 2 paragraphs maximum)
e.g. I have been so busy this past week because I had to visit my mum in Manchester. The flight was delayed and this caused me a little bit of stress. The weather was chilly, but it felt good to be back home for my mother's birthday.
What have you been doing? Tell me in the next class!

Tips and advice to improve your English
1. Read everything you can get your hands on
2. Actively take note of new vocabulary
3. Subscribe to podcasts or YouTube channels (in English)
4. If you record yourself speaking with your conversation partner, you can play it back and learn even better. That way, you can track your progress and pick up on your mistakes.
5. Improve your pronunciation using authentic English audio and video
6. Use tongue twisters - Choose one of these - English tongue twisters and say it slowly, making sure to correctly and clearly say every word.
7. Shadow English speech involves listening to how a native speaker says something and copying it.
